Area Radio Clubs VEC Schedule
MOARC VEC Schedule
The MOARC club sponsors VE testing on the third Friday of every month at the BOCES complex on Spring Road in Verona at 7:00 PM.
All necessary papers, answer sheets, etc are provided by the examining team. It is a good idea to bring a couple sharpened Number two pencils to the test session.
Two forms of ID are required, and one should be a picture ID. Minors who do not have the two forms can bring a birth certificate or other legal document that identifies them and have a responsible adult attest to their identity such as a parent or other relative.
The fee may have gone up a few cents; it has been at fourteen dollars but bring a couple bucks extra in case the fee has increased.

Posted by KG2BV on Saturday, July 04, 2009 (23:50:24) (117 reads)
The Next General Business Meeting for the CNYARA will be Tuesday, July 07, 2009 at the Marcy Town Hall starting at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. We will have two presentations. The first will be Radio Astronomy; The Hidden Universe, by W. Joseph Crossman, WA2QFK and the second will be Amateur Radio and SKYWARN by John Sallustio, AB2QZ, Oneida-Madison ARES EC.
Radio Astronomy; The Hidden Universe
Description of the Presentation
Radio Astronomy is a branch of astronomy that studies celestial objects at radio frequencies. This includes stars and galaxies as well as entirely new classes of objects, such as Radio Galaxies, Pulsars and Masers. The discovery of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation was a particularly significant event. Radio astronomy is conducted either with a single telescope or with multiple computer linked telescopes utilizing the techniques of radio interferometry and aperture synthesis. The latter has allowed radio sources to be imaged with unprecedented angular resolution. We will see how this relatively “New” science addresses these discoveries about what it has to tell us about the universe we inhabit.
